The CPR Electrical team has completed the installation and commissioning of the new Metroll Post Machine, working closely with Metroll Management. These advanced machines can form fence Posts and Rails, and robotically stack without the constant interaction with operators. The addition of the robotic stackers has doubled the productivity of these machines, significantly enhancing Metroll’s roll forming capabilities.
Project Overview
To install the new Roll Former, Metroll needed to decommission, relocate, and recommission existing roll formers to keep production running smoothly. With the new machinery in place, Metroll can now efficiently operate the MCC, robotic controller, new safety gate switch, and operator console. Extensive Point to Point testing and Inspection Test Plans (ITP) facilitated a seamless commissioning process.
Scope of Work
- Machine Relocation: Our team decommissioned, relocated, and recommissioned three roll formers in just 1.5 days, ensuring minimal disruption to Metroll’s production schedule.
- New Machine Installation: The new Metroll Post Machine was installed in 1.5 days, ready for immediate commissioning. This included the termination of the Motor Control Centre (MCC), robotic controller, safety gate switch, and operator console.
- Point to Point Testing and ITP: Extensive Point to Point testing and adherence to Inspection Test Plans were conducted to ensure all systems were operational and met safety standards. This meticulous testing was crucial for the smooth commissioning of the new machinery.
